We asked 9 insurers if they cover Muay Thai

Policy wordings are vague about sparring and fights, so we asked insurers to answer in writing.

Short answer: 4 of the 9 insurers have answered so far. Their answers differ most on sparring and fights: one covers sparring with no add-on, another stops at pad work, and only one says it covers organised fights.

What we asked

On 28 October 2026 we emailed the same five questions to each insurer: is training covered, including full-contact sparring? Is an unpaid amateur fight covered? Does a small purse make you a professional? Is MMA different? Is there a separate limit for sports injuries, and is a medical flight home covered?

What stands out

Still waiting

TuGo, DOGTAG, ActivitySure, ACS and PAX Assistance hadn't given an answer when we last checked, a day after we wrote. We'll add replies here as they come in.

Their answers feed the finder and our plan list. Read your own policy too: a written answer helps, but the policy is what a claim is judged on. General information, not financial advice.
